Clyde Hill News: Bellevue dispensary armed robbery
17th St Stormwater plan inches ahead; Town Hall with our King County Councilmember, Claudia Balducci
First, a stunning video from a Clyde Hill resident’s house cameras of a bald eagle flying away with its prey. Also, a healthy reminder to anyone with small pets in our neighborhood to be careful about leaving them unattended outside.
This week’s newsletter is on the shorter side as I’m traveling (spring break with kids…).

Stormwater on 17th Street
Briefly: the City is moving forward to perform the stormwater equipment repairs that have been discussed for over a year. The first step involves securing rights from property owners to access the equipment. From the Administrator’s Weekly Report here:
A Council sub-committee met on Wednesday 3/16 to discuss details of the 17th [Street] drainage issue and next steps. The committee agreed that the City’s intent is to negotiate with the three properties (8644, 8641, 8670 [on NE 17th St]) for the City to gain permanent rights for City access to the existing pipe; once that is successfully completed, we will take the necessary steps to replace the pipe and assume operations & maintenance into the future.
The first task is to complete a survey on the properties along the pipe’s alignment. The survey will provide the City with needed detail to determine how much property space may be needed, and to produce the necessary legal documents to establish said easements.
The next step here involves the City Administration sending affected property owners a “Right of Entry” form to sign so that the City can access the properties to perform planning work — very welcome progress!
