Bellevue Police looking for information
Sad report from yesterday’s Clyde Hill Police Sentinel: “The Bellevue Police department is looking for any information that may lead to the identification of this female. If you think you may have information, please contact the Bellevue Tip line at BPDTipsbellevuewa.gov or 425-452-7853.”

17th St Stormwater update
Briefly: activity for sure, progress unclear. The City is scheduling a meeting with “the property owner with the blockage.”
Scheduling a meeting is progress. Earlier this month, the City Administration informed the Council that a letter had been drafted for one owner in particular and that the City planned to send “similar letters & copies to other adjacent properties.” (link)
At the same time, progress is unclear. Some of the neighbors report that the new letter reverses policy again and puts responsibility squarely on a single property owner. The Administrator’s Weekly Report’s language above — “property owner with the blockage” (link) — does as well. A phone call with City Staff after the letter, according to one resident, seemed to contradict the letter. Neighbors have met to compare experiences, and no “similar letters” have been received yet at adjacent properties.
As background, local residents have had stormwater drain flooding issues for well over a year. Clyde Hill’s Public Works Department at one point provided residents help with sandbags to redirect water. In mid-2021, the City Council approved the City Administration’s request for funds to repair the issue. (The video below is from the City Administration’s presentation requesting the funds.) The City came back the next month to inform the City Council that the City would not pursue repairs. You can read more background here (“City to Residents: ‘Want to split a $250K bill?’”) and here (“City of Clyde Hill Abandons Project, Homeowners”).
