Clyde Hill News: Points 4th of July Celebration

Sending this week’s issue out early so that readers are aware of this weekend’s festivities here in the Points Communities.
This weekend, the Points Communities’ July 4th celebration includes a pet parade, a street dance, and a fishing derby. Mayor Katy Kinney Harris of Yarrow Point confirmed that Clyde Hill residents are invited — details below.
Also, voters’ pamphlets and ballots for the August primary will be in the mail to Clyde Hill residents next week from King County Elections. More information below for anyone who wants to do the reading early and have time to ask candidates questions.

Tuesday, July 4th: Fishing Derby, 7:30am – 9:30am Yarrow Point Beach End Dock
Tuesday, July 4th: Town Parade 11am (arrive by 10:15am, 92nd Ave closes at 10:30am)
Tuesday, July 4th: Picnic 11:30am – 1:30pm Yarrow Point Fountain

We are also very hopeful that with enough community support, we can bring back the Fireworks over Cozy Cove in 2024. Your 2023 donations directly impact 2024’s events. Please keep this wonderful tradition going and donate today!

August primary
Locally, Clyde Hill voters will choose which two candidates for council seat 2 will advance to the November general election. Three residents are currently running for the position.
King County Elections will mail out voters’ pamphlets and ballots to registered voters next week. You can read the candidates’ statements online here (link) right now. Here’s a preview of the ballot:
Clyde Hill residents will also vote on:
a King County proposition to “fund capital facilities and services for veterans, servicemembers, and their families” as well as seniors and caregivers by raising property taxes “$0.10 per $1,000 of assessed valuation” (or $100 per $1m of valuation).
a Port of Seattle Commissioner Position No. 5.
Bellevue School District No. 405 Director District No. 2.
