New fire-station designs; DNA evidence helps nab burglary suspect
An abbreviated newsletter this week, from a hotel room, as I am traveling again this week. The focus below is on Bellevue FD’s plans and some particularly sharp work from Clyde Hill’s detective. (I’m still working through the material from this month’s Council Meeting and will cover it in the next newsletter.)
One more item before our disclaimer: if you find this newsletter useful or interesting, please forward it to your Clyde Hill neighbors and friends. Thank you!
Disclaimer: while I am a councilmember on the Clyde Hill City Council, I write this newsletter in my capacity as an individual resident. Any opinions expressed are my own and not necessarily the position of the City. The information and references here are from public sources. I welcome email responses — and if the topic is about City business I will respond from my City email account.
Police update
From Chief of Police Kyle Kolling:
“Last month, I reported that we had gotten some DNA evidence back on a burglar suspect that did a couple of burglaries in our neighborhood. Detective Swai — Beatus Swai — through his hound-dogging actually got the burglar suspect to turn himself in. He’s probably being booked into the King County Jail as we speak right now.”
Fire station update
Bellevue Fire Department gave an update to the public about plans for updating Fire Station #5 here in Clyde Hill. One of the images of from their slide deck (link) of what the community can expect when the work is done:
